Hi everyone! Thank you for reading Cucumber Quest. I’d like to talk a little bit about the future of the comic. This will be kind of tough, but hear me out.
I’ll get right to the point: I can’t continue working on CQ as is. I don’t want to ramble about the details, but things are changing in my life, and I just don’t have the time or energy to keep this webcomic as my number-one priority going forward.
I know this will be disappointing to a lot of you, and I’m sorry. Please believe me when I say this wasn’t an easy decision to make. I’ve been trying to avoid writing this post for a long while, but it’s time for me to be honest with myself about what I’m capable of. So, page 931 will be the last page of this story in its current form.
Here’s the plan: Cucumber Quest is going on a lengthy hiatus. At the end of that hiatus, the story will be concluded in one big update–not as a comic, but in illustrated script format. If you’re wondering what that will look like, stay tuned! I’ve completed the remainder of Chapter 5 as an illustrated script, which you can read after this post.
Once again, thank you so much for reading my comic up to this point, whether you’ve been around for the past 8 years or you’ve just stumbled upon it today. It’s been a joy to share Cucumber with you, and I humbly ask for your patience until the very end.
